ASA108 Offshore Passage Making

The highest level of ASA certification. Students participate in an offshore passage of at least 72 hours. Subjects include advanced topics in navigation, passage planning, celestial navigation, watchkeeping, and vigilance. A certified student is able to safely act as Skipper and crew of a sailing vessel on offshore passages requiring celestial navigation.

Prerequisites: All previous ASA certifications (101, 103, 104, 105, 106, and 107)
Course includes:
- ASA Certified Instructor for pre-study and course consultation
- 5 days aboard 40 ft Offshore equipped, sloop rigged cruiser
- Minimum 72 hour offshore passage
- sailing credits for 150+ NM as Skipper and Crew
- Departs and arrives Victoria, BC, ports of call Neah Bay WA, Ucleulet and Tofino, BC
