ASA114 Cruising
Catamaran Chartering Standard
April 22-29, 2010
Learn to sail and Skipper a
new, state-of-the-art, Fountaine Pajot Catamaran yacht. Make
fast passages to quaint seaside ports, the clear turquoise
waters of Antigua, Barbuda, St. Kitts, St. Barths and Nevis- a
vacation to be remembered for a lifetime!

Antigua
is often described as a twinkling
star reflecting in the turquoise blue Caribbean Sea: It's
coastline glistening brightly, deeply cut tropical bays and
dazzling white sand beaches have made it the destination for the
adventurer and vacationer alike. The almost uninterrupted coral
reef around the island smoothes the waves and offers beautiful
sailing venues, protected snorkelling, quaint historical
seaside towns and fascinating dive sites. Steeped in history,
Antigua's two-hundred-year-old Nelson’s Dockyards is just
one of the reminders that this was once the British Empire' s
Navy' fleet base in the West Indies.
ASA114 General Description:
An advanced cruising standard for
individuals with cruising experience. The individual can act as
skipper and crew of a 30-50 foot multihull sailboat by day in
coastal waters. Successful students earn qualifications
for chartering and owning a 30-50 foot multihull. Guests
of enrolled students are welcome to join us in paradise
Prerequisites:
Basic Keelboat (ASA101) and Basic
Coastal Cruising (103). The Bareboat Charter Standard (ASA104)
is also a prerequisite and can be attained either by itself
prior or in conjunction with Cruising Catamaran Standard (ASA114). BOTH STANDARDS (ASA104 & 114) MUST BE
EXAMINED BEFORE ASA114 CERTIFICATION CAN BE AWARDED.
